The Laerdal pocket mask is intended for mouth-to-mask resuscitation of non-breathing adults, children or infants. The design of the Laerdal pocket mask, the filter and the one-way valve are the quality features that provide optimal protection during CPR. By creating a small distance between the patient and the rescuer, the pocket mask also allows the patient's lip coloration and chest movement to be seen. A high quality Technostat filter under a one-way valve filters contaminants from the air transmitted between the rescuer and the patient, protecting both.
